Fall 2017

Our event for Fall was a smashing success, and the night was electric. Our guest speaker was Dr. Megan Seibel, RN, Deputy Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry under Governor McAuliffe, Megan Seibel fosters leadership and capacity building in promoting growth in agriculture and forestry sectors. Our Wellness & Livability Champion Award went to Harry Lee Cross, III. Throughout his career, Harry has served as President of the Rotary Club, Chairman of the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the local YMCA and many others.

Spring 2017

Spring was in the air for our Art of Supper event with Darryl Haley, who is a philanthropist, entrepreneur, and passionate advocate for healthy eating and active lifestyles. His causes are many: supporting veterans and their families; engaging young people with active exploration of the great outdoors.

Fall 2016

The Fall 2016 event focused around Dr. LD Britt, noted physician and health advocate. The beautiful Planter’s Club was the scene for artwork from local artists and a riveting discussion from Dr. Britt about the state of national healthcare and the needs of our community. Dr. Britt was also selected to receive the Healthy Suffolk Wellness and Livability Champion Award.

Spring 2016

The Spring 2016 Art of Supper event celebrated Michael Curry and his contributions to the arts throughout Hampton Roads. The evening featured culinary masterpieces by Supper of Norfolk, Harper’s Table of Suffolk, and Mosaic’s Restaurant of Suffolk. Music from the award winning Jae Sinnett Trio, and artwork from internationally acclaimed artist Gloria Coker. The evening was hosted by radio celebrity Barbara Hamm Lee.

 

Fall 2015

The Fall 2015 Art of Supper event celebrated Suffolk chefs Harper Bradshaw of Harper’s Table, Aaron Spring or Mosaic’s Restaurant, Debra Blount of Now You’re Cooking, and Ed Beardsley or Plaid Turnip Restaurant. Featuring cocktails on the shores of the Nansemond River, and a silent auction, the evening was a delight for all in attendance.
